acceptable omission? whereas

Hi, all,

I am having difficulties in understanding acceptable omissions in English.

From September 7 to November 19, the total return of my portfolio is 11.47% whereas the total return is only 9.71% for S&P 500.

In the above sentence, is it acceptable to leave out "the total return is" in blue?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance,
LZ
