accompagner au capital

A company has been through an LMBO and it was "accompagné au capital" by banks.
Can I say that banks invested in the LMBO, or is there another term?

It might be a little bit late to answer that question, but in the case of a leveraged transaction, the bank does not "invest" in the transaction, it finances it.
Actually, it the very context of your sentence in French, you would imply that the bank bought equity, which is not the purpose of a LMBO in which the bank provides debt.
So if the bank has a stake in the company's capital, than it invested in it. If it provided debt, than it financed it.

Hope that answer can be useful to somebody someday
