According to (the) information provided

Hi all, is "the" required in the phrase "according to (the) information provided"? As in:

"According to (the) information provided in the manual, the machine must be turned off with 3 hours of use."

Google isn't very helpful here as both with and without "the" seem to be common. I think "the" is needed because it is in reference to specific information.

Many thanks!

Use "the information." If they wanted to totally abbreviate the sentence, they wouldn't have said "the manual" and "the machine."
