I have a question. What do you call a person who counts things accountant or counter or something else?

I mean, a person who is in charge of counting things as for example in a factory the person in charge of counting the items in the factory for stocktaking purposes. Is it an accountant, a counter or how do you call those people?

Thank you!!

Or stock clerk, or stock manager, in these days of employee empowerment.

An junior accountant might count the inventory as part of an audit periodically, but that wouldn't be the full time job of an accountant.
