achieve nothing but to contribute

I am running into difficulty with a particular phrase. I want to say "you will achieve nothing but to contribute to the problem".

The context relates to somebody who is only following part of a plan, not all of it, and thus this phrase is trying to convey that the plan is therefore unlikely to work.

Mon essai: "vous n'accomplirez rien sauf de contribuer au problème"

I think this is unlikely to be right, so any suggestions would be gratefully received!

Merci d'avance
