i know that an acrostic poem is a poem like this
Joyful
Angelic
Never frowning
Exhuberant
Loyal
Lovely
Excited
but is a poem like this
I know a girl named Janelle
she likes to plAy sports
wheN she plays sports
she sometimEs plays good
but most of the time she pLays average
she Likes to play with guys
better than she likEs to play with girls
considered an acrostic? (the capitalized letters are the letters of the name i am using, normally i would have lined them all up but it wont work so well on here )

I would not consider that to be an acrostic. I think that the first letter, or maybe the first words of each line have to spell out something, I don't think you can just capitalize certain letters, and have it be considered an acrostic.

I'm not really sure what "the rules" are for acrostics, so I might be wrong  but it just doesn't seem right.

acutally i found out that an acrostic can spell a word with the first, last, or middleish letters of each line. you can even do 1st letter of the 1st line, 2nd letter of the 2nd line 3rd letter of the 3rd line and so on and so forth
