Dear all,

I am in the middle of writing my dissertation. I was wondering whether it is permissible to say 'administer an activity' to mean conduct? The context is second language teaching.

Thanks in advance!

More context would be good. I know that I've heard the phrase "administer a beating", but I'm not sure if it's a general way of expressing activities. Can you write more specifically what you're attempting to communicate?

    Hello,

"Administer an activity" does not sound quite right. Maybe you could say led/organised/manage/supervise depending on the context?

Please give us the complete sentence in which you're thinking of using this phrase. It's very difficult to comment on the use of a phrase without any context.
