Hi,
Is it right when I use "advanced" and when "advancing" can be used? Can you give me an example for the word "advancing"? Thanks very much.
"Japan has become more advanced than some Western countries since the Second World War because her people are very hard-working."

    Nothing else wrong.

    You can use advancing, but it implies that the advancement is not complete:

    Japan is advancing towards becoming more advanced than some...

    However, I think that sounds a little bit strange.
