I am working in a Computer Science Context and I have to translate this sentences to English.

Afferent Couplings

I think that "Couplings" is "Acoplamiento". But "Afferent" ???
How do we translate "Afferent Couplings".

A long sentece where it is used :
The top tree displays the afferent couplings of each analyzed Java package.
La parte superior del arbol muestra el acomplamiento ???? de cada paquete java analizado.

I do actually 'speak' Java and have never heard the term, nor is it common in English or Computer Science. It seems to be a medical usage.

I think "los acoplamientos" is sufficient.

By the way, it is "el árbol superior" that displays...

"Cuplas aferentes" es el término utilizado, y te digo por la dudas, lo contrario de "eferente" (efferent). El término es usado en análisis de sistemas computacionales, no tiene que ver con Java en sí.

También está el acoplamiento como concepto, pero nunca lo había leido junto con la palabra aferentes/eferente. Pero sí, en escencia, si yo fuera a leer el texto, de cualquiera de las dos formas es entendible.

Interesting, I'm far from being a systems analyst and had never come across the terms - I would call them "dependencies"

I have done a little googling though and both afferent and efferent exist - and they are opposites, logically.

So....
