American English

I was wondering if anyone lnows that the Akkadian word for 'yes' is, as well as the cuneiform sign(s) for it? I know that 'no' is 'lā', but have found nothing on 'yes'.

According to the Chicago Assyrian Dictionary, it is "anna" or "annû." This is corroborated in the Online Akkadian Dictionary.

They offer several examples, among them: ana an-na ul-la iqbû, "that he has said yes for no."

I haven't been able to find the cuneiform signs, but presumably it would have been rendered with the signs AN+NA. I'm no expert, however.
