All that having been said, the central concerns of the novel are undoubedtly cruel.

How would this be written in the French, using a typical French formal style of writing?

I was thinking something along the lines of: 'Tout cela étant dit, les concernes centrales du roman reste indubitablement cruelles'.

    French - France
the central concerns = les préoccupations centrales

However I'm not certain to grasp the exact meaning behind "the cental concerns of the novel are undoubtedly cruel."
