    I'd say that 'allein gegen mich selbst' sounds more natural and idiomatic.
    To give you another example: There is a book by Reinhold Messner called "Allein gegen sich selbst."

    Ok, so "Allein gegen mich" is uncorrect. "Selbst" is absolutely essential after "mich" ?
    If you don't include the word "selbst", the "allein" could be interpreted as referring to another person. Indeed, it probably would be interpreted that way, because the listener/reader would assume that if the other case was intended, you would have added the word "selbst"... :)
