Yo entiendo que estás solo = alone, es decir, no hay más gente, es algo objetivo. Por otro lado, lonely es algo más subjetivo, puede ser solitario o que alguien se siente solo.me gustaria saber cual es la diferencia exacta entre estos dos adjetivos ya que me encontre con una frase que usa ambos y no soy capaz de traducir "Alone yet not lonely", solo ya, no solo...no lo entiendo. ayuda por favor
Either statement can be correct, but they don't mean the same thing. "Lonely" has a negative, rather sad connotation: if you say "I feel lonely" it suggests that you'd rather be with someone, usually in a social (or even romantic) sense. As DearPrudence pointed out, "alone" is more a statement of fact, but you might well say "I feel alone" when you are doing something difficult that should be done by many, but no one else is helping or supporting you.Hi everybody,
