I've never heard "every alternate year"; the expression I hear is "in alternate years".

How do you want to use one of these phrases in a sentence, Amin?

We'd say, "We conduct this event every other year."
    OR: ". . . every two years."
    OR: ". . . in alternate years."

P.S.: Just Parla. No "@" in the forum.
