Hi all :) I desperately need help translating this extremely difficult phrase:

Although most historians' impressions of the event is that it was a naval battle fought between the forces of Sun Quan and the forces of Cao Cao, the author Luo Guanzhong offers a highly romanticised account...

As you may have guessed, I'm talking about the Battle of Chibi.

This is my attempt so far:

虽然大部分的历史学家对事件的印象是海军战[fought between]孙权的军和曹操的军,但作家罗贯中[offers a highly romanticised account].

    尽管大多数历史学家认为这是一场孙权和曹操双方的水上战役,但作者罗贯中却对此进行了极其浪漫的描述.
