Always welcome here

Hi,

A friend of our local English missed last night's English club, I said "You won't miss it next week" (We have it every week). Then he said he is going to leave. He will stay in another city for some time. He said it's sad because he can't come to the club in the future.

I then said:

Always welcome here.

I wonder if it's okay to say so.

Thanks a lot!

It would be strange to say that without mentioning who was always welcome. But “You’re always welcome here” would be idiomatic.

    Thanks a lot, Lingobingo.

Hmm, I thought he was there and "always welcome here" would be understood by the context. Anyway, thank you so much!
