Which is correct:
1-It is amazing how he has changed.
2-It is amazing how much he has changed.

I think 1 could mean 'It is amazing in what way he has changed.'
Could it also mean the same as 2?

    I think you can think of these as synonymous, though it is indisputable that "how much" technically is a more precise wording. If one wished to take it literally, it would be a description of the "quantity" or "degree" of change.

    1-It is amazing how he has changed.
    His eyes are now different colours and his ears have moved to the back of his head.
    That is an amazing change.

    2-It is amazing how much he has changed.
    He used to be 3ft 6in and now he is 6ft 3in.

    I exaggerate a little to make the point, but I hear (1) referring to the nature of the change or the quality of change; (2) could be the same, but is focussing on the magnitude of change.
