Hello,

There's an interesting article on the BBC website ("One issue that really gets people's goat: Americanisms" link) and it's basically about the influence of AE upon BE.
The noun Americanism: " word, phrase, or idiom characteristic of English as it is spoken in the United States" is widely used in this article and I'm wondering whether there's an equivalent word defining a phrase or an idiom characteristic of English as it is spoken in UK or not.

I've heard the term "britishism", but with a rather pejorative connotation.

Well..if you take a look at that article, the term Americanism is mostly used with a rather pejorative connotation...
