    Hola tod@s,

Does anyone know the origin of the name Haile Selassie (Emperor of Ethiopia, 1930-1974)? I remember hearing that in Amharic (a Semitic language) it may have the meaning of "the force/power of the trinity." Haile sounds like it could be a cognate of the Hebrew words for "force" and for "soldier," while Selassie bears a strong resemblance to the Hebrew and Arabic words for "three."
