Bonjour,

dans la phrase suivante, est-ce je pourrais traduire "amortir" par "diminish"? Sinon, que me suggérez-vous?

"les touristes amortissent certains décalages entre l’image promotionnelle véhiculée sans éolienne et la réalité des paysages de la destination"


"The tourists diminish certain gaps between the promotional image conveyed without wind turbines and the reality of the landscapes of the destination "

    I would suggest using a phrase like "Tourists will automatically smooth over some of the rough edges between the promotional images (which show no windmills)..."

    Tourists will accept / be prepared to accept [minor] differences between advertised / promotional images of destinations (showing no wind turbines) and their actual look [on arrival].

    Tourists will mentally adjust for [minor] differences between advertised images of destinations ...and their actual look [on arrival].
