an executive "in the company" or "of the company"

My dad is a hard-working executive of a manufacturing company. ------ Is "of " commonly used here instead of "in"? Is it correct to use "in" here?

I think either is correct. The exception would be if your dad were the president, chairman, managing director or another top executive of which the company has only one. In that case, use "of."
