Abe Maslow requires no explanation or interpretation. He is an open book, knowledgeable by his words and his treasured person.
(Maslow on Management; Abraham H. Maslow; Foreword to the New Edition)

Would you be so kind as to tell me whether by any chance 'knowable' fits slightly better here?

Thanks.

I agree it sounds slightly better. But I don't know what knowledgeable is supposed to mean here. I can only interpret it as as illustrated by his words ...

    The OED definitions are:
    1. orig. Irish English. Possessing or showing knowledge; well-informed, well-read; sagacious, wise, educated.
    2. Chiefly U.S. Aware or cognizant of.
