Anchorites

Hi there

Does anyone know how the anchorites are called in Spanish? I know that they are men that want isolation to pray, they renounce the world... (I guess like that guy that lived in that hole in "The Life of Brian")

So far, I (or rather my sometimes-working brain) came up with "anacoreta".

What do you think?

Danke schön!
Jose

  • Hola Jose!!
Anchorite: One retired from society for religious reasons
    Synonym: hermit
    Saludos :)
