ANCIEN PROTEGE CAHIER HISTOIRE DE PRANCE"PEPIN LE BREF"

Antique or old protected history notebook........

It's a black and white illustration, but I don't understand clearly the reason why "Protege" is inserted here.

    merci

    Bonjour Rebecca,

Un protège-cahier is an exercice-book cover.

It is adorned with a drawing or a picture belonging to the collection themed "French History", and describing a king called Pépin-le-Bref (I don't know his name in English; his Christian name was Pépin and, as he was very small, he was nicknamed le Bref = the little one).

    bonjour,

sorry it didn't make sense, the main thing I wanted to understand was the concept of a "protected" notebook, and now I see- notebook cover. It was an explanatory phrase under a picture of a black and white illustration that was from the cover of a notebook.

    Thanks very much!
