Hello. What is the proper answer to a suggestion starting with "Let's..."? I heard a young lady reply to her male friend with just "Let" in a 1940s American film. What do you think about this?

Let sounds strange to me. Perhaps it's AE. You could say Yes, let's. The enthusiastic Do let's sounds old fashioned to me. There's also Yes, why not? I'm sure other people can thing of other possibilities.

The answer "Yes, let's." can also be shortened to just "Let's.". Perhaps in the film the 's' sound at the end was not strong enough, and you then mis-heard it as just "Let".
