@DearPrudence, I am afraid that algures does not work well in the example sentence and my own personal native language advisor agrees with me. Algures means somewhere (em alguma parte - there is no PTEN entry but you can see this thread: Algures vs Alhures), so this is not exactly anywhere (em qualquer parte).
A possible translation apart from the one suggested: Neste preciso momento, preferia estar noutro lugar / sítio qualquer menos aqui (this may come with a PT-PT flavour).

sítio qualquer" under "any place" as well, in case this is the enbase entry that is kept?
