Apology for someone else mistake

How to apologise for someone else mistake? I need to send an email from my department and apologise for mistake that soneone made from other department. The person that compained about the mistake that happened doesn't know how the process work so he blame our department and he is quite unhappy and this person is VP, so it has to be very nice email. I wrote this:
We would like to apologise for the inconvenience.
We will reimburse you the lease cost and we will not include lease benefit on the slip.

    We can answer specific questions about a sentence. I will say that "We would like to apologize for the inconvenience" is fine. Do you have a specific question about your second sentence?
