Hi all

I am struggling in these tow sentences.

The applicants joining the programme were limited in 150.
OR
The applicants to join the programme were limited in 150.

Anyone know which one is right?

Cheers

The number of participants in the programme was limited to 150.

I would personally stay away from "applicants," because you can have 5,000 of them. You're describing the people admitted to the programme, not how many applied.
