    Could you please confirm my supposition that in the following context, apprit à means informed and not learnt from? Many thanks.

    Context: Project of collaboration between a museum in Brussels and one in Paris.

    "Après trois ans de travail avec nos collègues de Bruxelles, Mme X, directrice du Musée ..... de Belgique apprit à Mme Y, directrice du musée ..... de Paris, que ce projet n’aurait pas de suite.

    ...Mme Y me transmit cette lettre ainsi annotée : « .../ eh bien on ne le fera / qu’à Paris, mais on / le fera »."
