appuyer le bon bouton

Is it, perhaps, used in a figurative sense as a variant of "pousser sur le bon bouton" = to 'click' with someone? E.g.
She: "Il n'a pas poussé sur le bon bouton".

Thanks. Of course we have the expression in English: 'Press the right buttons' which can mean 'click with someone.' These is also a usage, perhaps only Australian, 'He/she presses my buttons'.
