    Muchas gracias. :)

    In the US we don't give words we give letters...F, D, C, B, A

Um, I suppose: failing, passing, good, excellent, superior?

    Aprobado- Pass
    Notable- B
    Sobresaliente-A

Había pensado algo así como "the mark corresponds to the following: passed:1, very good:2, excellent:3, disctintion:4", pero no sé si es muy correcto...

"In our grading system 1 is passing, 2 very good, 3 excellent, 4 outstanding."

By the way, most American schools would have difficulty evaluating a transcript using this system. In California we use a 4+ system with 1 as a low (minimal) pass (not accepted as a pass for college admissions) 2 as a pass (minimum required to receive credit as a pass for college admissions) 3 as good and 4 as excellent. (The + is for college level classes taken in high school for which the highest grade is 5.) So a student with a 2.0 grade would not be considered very good at all.
