Hi there, people!

My question here today is how to translate this "arancel preferencial" (in this case arancel = import tax). Here is the text:

Uruguay tiene asignada una cuota de 20.000 toneladas con arancel preferencial (26,5%) en este mercado.


I've googled for "preferential import tax" in .uk sites without any result.
Someone out there to help me??

Hi, I've checked in a "diccionario de términos jurídicos" and I've found that the translation for "aranceles preferenciales" is "preferential tariff". In principle it is a good dictionary.

I usually prefer to search in sites from the UK, so that the result has a greater chance of being more accurate. Sometimes I find lots of results in sites of countries whose mother tongue is not English, and I tend to "distrust" these results.

In my "investigation" here I have found that tariff is a better word for import tax. I found it on www.andymiles.com, and then googled for "preferential tariff". Here is the result:

Después de ciertas comprobaciones me apunto a la opción "Preferential tariff" pues arancel=Tariff. El arancel no es un impuesto (Tax) es una tasa aduanera, gravamen, coste, pero no un impuesto.
