Architectural Design

  1. I looked up the word design in the WR dictionary, and it came up with a tremendous amount of results. I was unsure which one, if any, I was to use in the sentance I am attempting to translate: An Italian architect, William de Volpiano, designed the Romanesque church of the abbey in the 11th century, daringly placing the transept crossing at the top of the mount.
    Design as in architcture. There was no specific term for this, and I was unsure which of the other I am to use. Many thanks in advance!

    you can use "concevoir" which is the most comonly used translation of "design" in technical matter.
    The other one relates to aesthetical design.
    Here: un architecte italien, ... conçu l'église romane ...
