Hello everybody, I'm having trouble translating 'armar' in the following context:

'tardé muchas semanas en armar una travesía viable.'

Would love it if someone could help me!

    For more context:
    'Los viajes empiezan normalmente en la sala de estar y así, sentado frente a una mesa, tardé muchas semanas en armar una travesía viable.'

    He's saying that he starts to think about the trip in his living room, and he plans everything for/during (?) many weeks. That's the meaning of armar here: planear, montar, organizar...
