armed truce

Hello. Can anybody tell me if there's any difference between a truce and an armed truce? I'm reading a story where two women make an "armed truce" after a fight. Thank you.

In a truce, people stop fighting for a time but do not make peace with each other. If they keep their weapons loaded, aimed at the other side, and ready to fire if the other side starts firing, it is an armed truce. This suggests that both sides expect fighting to start again soon, and they perhaps do not trust the other side to follow the terms of the truce. In the case of these two women they may not have had real weapons, but the concept is similar: they expect to start fighting again, and they probably don't fully trust each other.

One could say that North and South Korea have an armed truce.
