Hello,

"The pieces are arranged transversally in / on / as a U shape"

What sounds better to mean they are placed in the shape of a U?

    The same two phrases are correct in AE. But you guys both type faster than me.

    What does "transversally" mean in this sentence? I don't recognize that word.

    I wanted to say that the pieces are placed across of each other (=transverse), and are linked at the end, in the U shape mentioned above.
