Hello everyone,

Source: Are Japanese toddlers as independent as Netflix's Old Enough portrays them?

Here's the title of the article above:
(1). Are Japanese toddlers as independent as Netflix’s Old Enough portrays them?

Questions:
The sentence is totally fine with me, but I'm wondering if it also works to add an "as" at the sentence-end, considering the pattern of "portray X as Y":
(2). Are Japanese toddlers as independent as Netflix’s Old Enough portrays them [as]?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Grassy is right. The terminal as does not belong there. It's superfluous and the issue is not controversial.
