Hola:

He leído la siguiente oración: "He found a connection between big teeth and being famous as a movie star."

Mi pregunta es: ¿no debería ser "He found a connection between big teeth and being famous like a movie star"?

Thanks.

In this instance the speaker is explaining why the person is famous: not as a singer, not as a racing driver, but as a movie star.

So it is not a comparison (famous like a movie star).

So it is not a comparison (famous like a movie star).

The piece I found that contains that phrase is slightly different than evoj2 has quoted and is much less ambiguous.

Then he studied other stars. He studied
them very carefully. And he saw a correlation, a connection, between big teeth
and being a famous movie star. Now, unfortunately he has always had tiny teeth,
I mean since he was born.
