Hello,

I was thinking of whether I could rewrite the first sentence, which I myself made up, as the second sentence.

1 - The more you hold back from smoking in public, the more you will do good both to yourself and to others around you.
2 - As much you hold back from smoking in public, so much you will do good both to yourself and to others around you.

I haven't really seen such a usage, but it makes sense to me when I read. I was wondering what your opinion is. Thanks.

    No.
I can understand #2, but no one would say it that way.
Even if we corrected the grammar errors, it would still be awkward.
