I have researched on translating the pharse below into spanish. I need the translation to be as close to the words in the phrase.

As the starlets arrived on the red carpet the paparazzi, played by James Rivera, buzzed about snapping pictures.

This phrase is from a newspaper article that I am translating for a friend. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The article is about a club's theme event "Walk The Red Carpet - A Night in Hollywood".

Conforme las aspirantes a estrellas llegaban a la alfrombra roja el paparazzi, interpretado por James Rivera, zumbaba por allí/alrededor tomando fotos.

I worked with it some more after your input. I am going to use:

Cuando las estrellas llegaron en la alfombra roja el paparazzi, interpretado por James Rivera, zumbaba aquí y allá sacando fotos.

I really liked the word revoloteaba but opted for zumbaba.
