Hello everyone,

I've been trying to find out what ASA stands for when associated with the name of an abbess and I wonder if anyone can enlighten me on that.
I appreciate your help.

Hello, bluegiraffe and thank you for your answer.

An abbess is the superior of a group of nuns and this lady writes a letter, at the end she signs her name and after the name she adds "ASA", which in my opinion could be a title or something, there is no further explanation, hence my doubts.
    Thank you

The letters after the name of a priest, monk or nun tell you which order they belong to.

O.P. = Ordo Praedicatorum [Order of Preachers] commonly called Dominicans
S.J. = Societas Jesu [Society of Jesus] = Jesuits
R.S.C.J. = Religiosa Sanctissimi Cordis Jesu = Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

I don't know of an order which uses A.S.A.

S.A. = Society of the Atonement.
O.S.A = Order of Saint Augustine = Augustinians.
S.S.A = Society of Saint Augustus.

What country does she live in?
