Buongiorno.

    Buongiorno.

    Un'altra forma:
by asking the peers of the candidates for nominations.

    ???
    ????

 Tim, I still don't understand, does it mean to ask the peers to candidate themselves or else to suggest some names of other candidates?

Michelangelo is a candidate for election to the Florentine Academy of Fine Arts.

Two guys named Raffaello and Bernini are his friends/peers/colleagues.

Asking candidates' peers for nominations =
Asking Michelangelo's peers for nominations =
Asking Raffaello and Bernini to nominate Michelangelo to the Academy.
    ..........the peers of Micky......
    :)
