Aspirin reduces/lessens/lowers the risk of...

Could you tell me, please, why the sentence "Aspirin reduces the risk of heart attack." is wrong? I think we can use "reduce" this way, but "people" told me it was unnatural. I tend to use all three of the suggested verbs and I think they mean more or less the same thing. Am I wrong?

    No, I'd agree with you. There's no significant difference between them here. 'Lessen' is less common as a word, perhaps, but it's not less appropriate here.
