At / In the Pub

Using the following word "Pub" which is the correct preposition to be used with?

"In" e.g. "I am in the pub with a frind of mine"

or

"At" e.g. "I am at the pub with a friend of mine"

I would say "in" the pub but I am not 100% sure.

Thank you,
Alessandro

Both are fine, like many cases in English.

The only difference is that you can also use 'at' if you are standing near the pub. Here, you can't use 'in'.
