When you mean someone talked about something during a masterclass, would you say "He said it in a masterclass" or "at a masterclass"?

It's splitting hairs, but here goes.
"In a master class" would be something that was said by a participant. Professor Blahblah discussed several alternatives in the master class.
"At a master class" would be something that was said by an observer. We talked about where to go for lunch at the master class.
