atenuarse y volverse menos brillantes [colores]

    Buenas tardes.
    Quisiera traducir al inglés "atenuarse [los colores] y volverse menos brillantes".

    La frase y contexto son los siguientes:

    Los colores de la ropa se atenuaron (se apagaron) y se volvieron menos brillantes después de varios lavados.

    Mi intento:

    The colo(u)rs of the clothes faded away and got/became less bright after several washing-up's.

    ¿Es correcto? Agradezco sus comentarios.

    Very good!

    Get rid of the "away" and you'll be fine.

    Fade AWAY would be like if you were to "fade away into the background."

    But for this context, specifically, faded ... is just fine.

    Great job.
