average score in multiple trials

Hi/ciao
I'm translating a scientific paper about reliability of biomechanical variables in sprint running but I do not know how to translate this expression "Further improvements in reliability can be achieved by using the average score of multiple trials as the measurement of interest" as I cannot find anything I think could fit the context. It's about monitoring the changes in the athlete's performances during several trials, it contains formulas as well.
