Hi members,

according to Iranica the bridge Činuuatō pərətu (mp. Činwad-puhl) which leads the souls of the dead in the other world was believed to mean "the bridge of the seperator" but recently there was a Suggestion to translate it as "the bridge of the collector". I know the meaning of pərətu but how is the proposed etymology for Činuuatō? And is it connected with the newpersian verb čidan?

Thanks in advance!
