Award for the year

    hi,
    If you were to say that somebody got an award for something for the year 2000, would you use "pour l'ans 2000" or "pour l'année 2000"? Or do the french just leave that part out and say "pour 2000"?

    The best would be: "pour l'année 2000".
    By the way, there is a typo in "pour l'ans 2000". It's "pour l'an 2000". :)

    Hello lukasly!

    I think you could say within a context such as:

    Son film a été récompensé pour son adaptation en 2000/2001, etc...
    Or
    ...a reçu l'Oscar du meillleur film de l'année 2000.

    ok thanx everyone, it must seem kind of an easy question, but i don't think i ever did that in class...
