I think I know what the author want to say,ie. Alfred Nobel does not issued Nobel Economic prize, it is the swiss bank who offerd such prize later on. But why the author use "cheekily"? I think it's not suitable here.

The Swedish Royal Academy of Sciences (which awards an economics prize cheekily named after, but not endorsed by, Alfred Nobel) hesitated before it awarded Mr Nash, and two other game theorists, the honour in 1994.
